The Level 3 TAQA, (Training, Assessment, and Quality Assurance) provides a pathway for delegates to understand assessment and qualify as an assessor. To achieve these units, you can be assessing competence or non-competence-based learning, knowledge, or skills. You can select the units and qualifications that meet the requirements of what you are assessing.

What will I learn?

The qualification is made up of one theory module and a choice of two practical modules. You can choose just the theory module or add one or both practical modules depending on your role requirements.

Module 1 – Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment is a knowledge-only award for those of you who are starting your journey as an assessor, or if you need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practising.

Module 2 – Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is for practitioners who assess the demonstration of competence in a work environment.

Module 3 – Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement is for practitioners who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally related subject areas.

This qualification is aimed at those who are interested in working within a training and assessment environment or for those who have been practising assessment and want to formalise their knowledge and skills.

This is a valuable programme for you to learn about role of an assessor and the wider requirements within the education sector.

Are there any formal entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification however specifically for the practical units, it would benefit you to have access to assessing learner progress and achievement as observations of assessment practice are a requirement for these modules.

Payment options

If you are paying for the course yourself, we offer interest free instalment payment plan options, which are agreed on an individual basis. Typically, this is a 50% pre-course payment, which is to be paid before the course start date, with the remaining balance paid over 3 monthly instalments or up to the course end date, whichever is the earliest date.

If your employer is paying for the course, you should provide a purchase order number at the time of booking and fees are expected to be paid in full before the course start date.

For online courses, deposit payments or full fees must be paid at least 7 days before the course start date.

For face to face training courses, deposit payments or full fees must be paid at least 20 working days before the course start date.
